Women's Compression Socks: lighter legs after a long day of standing
By the end of your day your legs are exhausted. The Women's Compression Socks are made for precisely that moment. You've been standing or walking for hours, your ankles swell up and in the evening the shoes that still fit fine in the morning feel tight. These Premium Support Socks provide 20-30 mmHg pressure on your feet and lower legs, so that blood flows better and fluid accumulates less quickly around your ankles. They work as orthopedic support socks, without looking like 'old granny socks'.
Why choose these Women's Compression Socks?
- 20-30 mmHg compression for better blood circulation
- Less fluid accumulation in your ankles and calves
- Orthopedic function, without the orthopedic appearance
- Set of 3 pairs, each with its own print
- Wide ribbed cuff that stays in place
- Stretch material for the perfect fit
- 97% of our customers have less trouble with tired legs
What are compression socks good for?
If you stand or walk all day, your blood has to flow back up from your feet against gravity, and the longer the day lasts, the slower that goes. Fluid sinks to your ankles and your legs become heavy. Compression socks press with 20-30 mmHg on your lower leg, and that pressure supports your veins and calf muscles in pumping blood back. Less fluid remains behind.
That's why support socks are worn for varicose veins, muscle fatigue or cramps, pain or swelling and during rehabilitation. They don't cure varicose veins. They do reduce the heavy, full feeling that comes with them, and that's the reason compression is recommended by physiotherapists.
Women's support socks that look like ordinary nice socks
Many women put off support socks because they look so medical that everyone can see what you're wearing. That first part is no longer necessary. These women's compression socks have stripes, dots, hearts and checks, in five colour sets from black-white to pink, green and blue.
Each order is a set of 3 pairs in three different designs. That's more practical than it sounds. Compression only works if you actually wear the socks, and with one pair you're washing every other day. With three pairs you wear one, one is in the wash and one is clean in the drawer. Midnight Muse is the quiet choice under work clothes: solid black, a black-white stripe and white dots. Pink Rebel and Blue Horizon stand out more with hearts and a check pattern.
How long can you wear compression socks?
All day, as long as you're on your feet. Put them on in the morning and take them off before you go to sleep. If you skip a busy day, you'll notice that in the evening.
Who wears them? Nurses, pedagogical workers, hairdressers and teachers who stand a whole shift and barely sit in between. Also during pregnancy many women wear compression socks against swollen ankles. As travel socks they're nice during a long flight or car journey, where you sit still for hours and your feet swell up, and the same applies to warm days when your legs retain fluid more quickly. If you have a vascular condition or have doubts during your pregnancy, first consult with your GP or midwife.
What are the disadvantages of compression socks?
Honest answer: putting them on. A sock with 20-30 mmHg pressure is tight, otherwise it does nothing. The finely ribbed fabric of polyester and elastane stretches far along, and that helps. Roll up the sock to the heel, put your foot in it and then roll it up over your calf.
The second concern is a cuff that cuts in or rolls down under your knee. These Premium Support Socks have a wide ribbed cuff that stays in place, so you don't pull it up all day. What remains: warmth. On a summer day you feel that you're wearing a knee sock, and in return your legs feel lighter in the evening.
