Putting on your shoes has become quite a production: bending, wriggling and then tying too, while your back or your hip has long since stopped cooperating. And the shoes that do slip on easily immediately look a bit old-fashioned. These comfort sneakers solve both — with a real zip on the side, in an ordinary, neat sneaker shape.
On the outside of each shoe runs a functional zip from the collar diagonally downward, with a metal puller that you can easily grasp. Open, foot in, close: standing, with one hand. No shoehorn, no looking for a chair in the hallway at someone else's home.
The round elastic laces run through flat eyelets and are secured with a small stopper block, so tying is not necessary. You set them once to your foot width and your instep. You don't lose any fit because of the zip — it only takes over the opening and closing.
The toe is round and spacious, so your toes fit next to each other instead of pressed together. At the same time, the zip pulls the shoe closed around your foot and the mid-high collar closes around your ankle. Wide in front and secure behind — your heel doesn't slip out.
All around runs a hand-stitched moccasin seam: a tight, visible stitch along the entire sole edge. Underneath sits a rubber sole that wraps around the upper like a cup and rises slightly at the toe. The sole stands flat and stable, without a high heel and without sinking into soft cushioning.
From Black, Khaki and Cream to Light Blue, Pink, Army and Petrol Blue: thirteen colours in a solid leather look, for some colours a soft nubuck look. The size range runs from 35 to 48 — including the large sizes that are almost impossible to find anywhere.
Don't guess, measure. Stand on a sheet of paper, mark your heel and your longest toe and measure the distance in centimeters — preferably at the end of the day, when your feet are at their widest. Add 0.5 cm and choose the size that corresponds. If you're between two sizes, or have wide feet or a high instep, take the larger of the two: you simply set the laces a bit looser afterwards.
